"PTSD Is" is a series exploring the realities of life with PTSD.
PTSD is reading the Bible with your family, but suddenly tensing up because the words you're reading were said verbatim by your abusers and you're getting pulled back to the violence and pain.
You squeeze your husband's hand tightly so the kids don't notice, but as soon as Bible study is over, you go to your room and fight off terrifying panic while your husband rubs your back and legs.
Then you crawl into bed with an ice pack between your legs and try to sleep it off.
